Biggerplate Community Reaches 50,000 Members!

There's not a huge amount more to say (the title says it all)... but what a fantastic landmark to reach, and what a great sign of health for mind mapping as a whole!

As we welcome our 50,000th member to the community, we immediately start to look forward to the day we welcome our 100,000th member, which we hope will be within the next year. The growth of Biggerplate over the last 18 months has been very exciting, and we're extremely optimistic about the future of our mind mapping community, and the future of mind mapping in general.

While we have perhaps become a little bit immune to big numbers in the web era of Facebook and Twitter millions/billions, it is perhaps worth remembering that when we started Biggerplate 5 years ago, there were simply no mind mapping communities of any substantial size that could be found online. Now there is a really active, constantly growing, and continually evolving community of over 50,000 people around the world. That is incredibly exciting, and what makes it even more so, is the fact that we are starting to build ways for this online community to become better connected in the offline world too, through events such as Biggerplate Unplugged. As we continue to build the core of Biggerplate over the coming months, you'll see some really nice new features to help you get more out of the library, and more out of mapping in general. For those of you who have been kind enough to share maps on Biggerplate, the next phase is going to be particularly exciting and full of cool new stuff!

It just remains for me to say a big thank you as always to anyone and everyone who has helped us reach this milestone, to all those who have blogged, 'liked', tweeted, and shared content with our community, we thank you. And we hope you will stick with us on the next exciting phase of growth and development at Biggerplate!

Best wishes to you all

Liam Hughes

P.s. Imagine if every one of those 50,000 members shared just one mind map... that would be amazing! If you have not yet uploaded a map to the library - now's a great time to try it out - we'd love to see how you're using mind mapping in your world!
